The Mega Radio station started simply, with a microphone and the vision of a man who loved his broadcasting profession. This man dreamed of achieving great things in radio, of spreading musical joy, of transmitting energy. This man, Claudio Castro Cabrera, wanted to play tropical, danceable music 24 hours a day! He aimed to get the people of Cuenca dancing to the music that many stations in the area dared not play: bachata, merengue, salsa from Caribbean artists.
